This pin design is based on an ancient (600 BC) Scythian gold ornament in the shape of a curled cat found in a grave in the Altai Mountains near the border of Russia and China.
The markings on the pin are taken from a depiction of a lioness on a neck ornament found in the western Scythian territory (Ziwiyeh).
The pin is sterling sliver, 1 1/2" wide.
The amber cab is 10 mm.
